La estatuilla, creada por el escultor Pablo Irrgang, estará en exhibición permanente en el municipio tinerfeño.
Hace unos días, el ayuntamiento de El Sauzal en Canarias, España, inauguró una nueva escultura de Mafalda, la que estará en exhibición permanente en el municipio tinerfeño.
La ceremonia contó con la participación especial de Pablo Irrgang, escultor y autor de la estatuilla que ahora se convierte en una nueva vecina de la comunidad canaria. El artista argentino destacó la importancia de “crear puentes culturales que nos unan a través del arte y el humor”.
En el evento también estuvieron presentes el alcalde de El Sauzal, Mariano Pérez, quien expresó que “esta escultura es más que un homenaje; es una invitación a detenernos, reflexionar y recordar que la infancia tiene derecho a expresarse, cuestionar e imaginar”.
Además, asistieron miembros del Consulado Argentino en Tenerife representados por la Cónsul adjunta, Geraldine Cohen, y el ilustrador y crítico de cómic, Manuel Darias.
Así, esta nueva escultura se suma a una red internacional de ciudades que han rendido homenaje al personaje creado por Quino, con réplicas en lugares como Buenos Aires, Lima, Guadalajara, Santiago de Chile, Caracas, Madrid, Barcelona y Oviedo.
