Mafalda llega a EE. UU. con una nueva traducción al inglés

El sello Elsewhere Editions publicará cinco volúmenes de la emblemática historieta creada por Quino, traducida al inglés por Frank Wynne. El primero, Mafalda: Book One, ya está disponible.
Desde este 10 de junio está disponible el primero de los cinco volúmenes que la editorial Elsewhere Editions publicará de Mafalda, la icónica historieta creada por el dibujante argentino Joaquín Lavado, “Quino”, en una nueva traducción al inglés de Frank Wynne.
El primero de los volúmenes, titulado simplemente Mafalda: Book One, incluye las primeras tiras de Mafalda, su familia y su ecléctico grupo de amiguitos y compañeros de juegos: el soñador Felipe, la chismosa Susanita, el joven capitalista Manolito y el rebelde Miguelito.
Esta edición llega al país norteamericano en un contexto que, según The New York Times, “Mafalda es relativamente desconocida en Estados Unidos, cuenta con pocas traducciones al inglés y el cómic ha tenido escasa o nula distribución en el país […] Para quien vea en la obra de Quino una hoja de ruta para navegar por un clima político polarizado, el primer volumen no puede llegar lo bastante pronto”.
Mafalda: Book One ya está disponible en el sitio web de Elsewhere Editions y también internacionalmente a través de Penguin Random House.
