Mafalda ha cumplido 60 años pero sigue siendo una niña respondona y filósofa que desde el 28 de octubre de 2024 además tiene una escultura delante de la Casa del Lector del Matadero de Madrid.
Sentada en un banco de madera municipal, e imaginada con un vestido rojo por el escultor Pablo Irrgang, la escultura de 80 centímetros de alto y 20 kilos ha sido donada al Ayuntamiento de Madrid por la editorial Lumen (propiedad ahora de Penguin Random House), que la publica en España desde 1970, seis años después de su primera aparición en la revista argentina Primera Plana.
